Physical Expression for Animators

Date and Time:
April 14, 2009 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Location:
ARTS Lab
131 Pine St NE
Albuquerque, NM 8713

Cost: Free

Description:
Join actor Barbara Geary as we explore the process of creating a character using the body as the fundamental vehicle for expression. Explore principals of movement, gestural language and a range of physical, emotional and comedic experience. Techniques learned can be applied to elements such as visual and auditory, composition, building the rhythm and arc of a scene, character design, character establishment and interaction, art direction, and cinematography.

The session culminates in the development of a personal "cartoon" character that can be both animated and performed live. If you have a character you've been working on, or want to work on, please bring sketches or other images to work from and share with the group.

bonus: It's also a lot of fun!
